Your Healthy Mind

As strong physical health facilitates an active bodily life, so positive emotional health enhances an individual's intellectual and spiritual life. When we feel really grounded emotionally we embrace life fully, we survive our misfortunes and savour happy times accepting that both of these form the pattern of our lives. The psychotherapeutic relationship exists to help you overcome difficult life issues of concern to you, develop a clear, healthy perspective and have more personal contentment. Issues that are often helped by therapy include: anxiety, depression, phobias, low self-esteem and social problems.

ABOUT ME - MARYLOU MCSHANE

I am a qualified therapist holding a Diploma in Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy accredited with the National Counselling Society. I also have training in Counselling, Transactional Analysis and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. The supportive processes, which I offer, may be of use to help you achieve harmony and balance in your life.

For over twenty years I have facilitated groups and individuals in developing practical life skills. During this time it has become very clear to me that almost all difficulties people encounter, particularly with regard to communication and behaviour, have their roots in the internal dialogue we constantly have with ourselves. Resolving this often contentious and unhelpful inner conversation releases energy and allows us to be real with others and purposeful in our actions. When our internal conflict is clearly understood and managed by us, our external life becomes less fractious and simpler. I have found this in my own life and continue to have this simple truth confirmed to me by my clients.
